Description

Deliciously unique cottage cheese bagels that are soft, flavorful, and protein-packed.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cottage Cheese (small or large curd)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • Sesame or Poppy Seeds (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, honey, and beaten egg.
  3. Knead the dough gently for 1-2 minutes on a floured surface.
  4. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each into a rope, then form into a ring.
  5. Boil bagels in water for 30 seconds per side.
  6. Transfer to a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle seeds.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute the egg with a flaxseed egg and use plant-based cottage cheese.
