Description
Crispy toasted baguette slices topped with creamy mashed avocado and garlicky shrimp make these Garlic Shrimp Crostini the ultimate party appetizer. Fresh, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes, they’re perfect for entertaining or enjoying as a quick gourmet snack.
Ingredients
1 baguette – sliced into ½-inch pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil – for brushing the bread
1 large avocado – ripe and creamy for easy mashing
Juice of ½ lemon – keeps avocado fresh and adds brightness
Salt & pepper – to taste
1 pound shrimp – peeled and deveined
3 cloves garlic – minced for maximum flavor
2 tablespoons butter – for a rich sauté base
Fresh parsley – chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Prep the crostini: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil. Toast for 8–10 minutes, until golden and crisp.
Mash the avocado: In a small bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Cook the shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
Assemble: Spread mashed avocado on each crostini, top with shrimp, and sprinkle with parsley.
Serve immediately while warm for the best flavor.
Notes
Use sourdough or ciabatta for a sturdier base if desired.
For extra heat, sprinkle with red pepper flakes before serving.
Can be prepped ahead by toasting the bread and cooking shrimp in advance, then assembling right before serving.
