Description
Delicious homemade soft pretzel bites that are easy to make and perfect for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour for a nuttier flavor)
- 1 packet active dry yeast (or instant yeast)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water (around 110°F)
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Butter (vegan or regular) for brushing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually mix in warm water until a sticky dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a long rope, about 1 inch thick, and cut into 1-inch pieces to form pretzel bites.
- In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a gentle boil. Drop pretzel bites in batches for about 30 seconds.
- Transfer the boiled bites onto a baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake at 425°F for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with dips.
Notes
Serve with mustard, cheese sauce, or hummus. Experiment with various toppings for added flavor.
