Description
A creamy and flavorful cheese sauce that elevates your fries to a gourmet experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Cream Cheese
- 1 cup Whole Milk (or dairy-free milk)
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (or olive oil)
- 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 dash Hot Sauce
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients before starting to ensure a smooth cooking process.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour for about 2 minutes until it becomes a light golden color.
- Slowly pour in the milk while continuously whisking to avoid clumping. Cook until thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and add cream cheese, stirring until melted. Gradually add the sharp cheddar, stirring until the sauce is smooth.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Serve immediately over crispy fries, optionally garnishing with chopped chives or parsley.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute the milk and cheese with plant-based alternatives. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
