- 1 package of puff pastry (thawed)
- 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup walnuts (chopped, optional)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts.
- On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
- Place the apple mixture in the center of the pastry and fold the edges over the filling.
- Brush the top of your kringle with a beaten egg.
- Transfer the kringle to a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the kringle cools, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the top of the kringle.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or pair with coffee or tea for an afternoon snack.
