Description

A luxurious cheesecake that combines the rich flavors of red velvet cake and creamy cheesecake, topped with an Oreo crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crust
    • 2 cups Oreo cookies, crushed
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • For the Cheesecake Filling
    • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 box red velvet cake mix
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Combine with melted butter and mix until well blended. Press the mixture firmly into the base of a springform pan to form a solid crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes and allow it to cool.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and granulated sugar. Beat them together until smooth and creamy. Add sour cream, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, mixing until uniform. Incorporate eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully combined before adding the next.
  3. Add Red Velvet Mix: Gradually fold in the red velvet cake mix until just combined, being careful not to over-mix.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled Oreo crust. Smooth the top with a spatula if needed. Bake in the oven for about 1 hour, or until the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle.
  5. Chill: Once baked, turn off the oven and crack the door open, allowing the cheesecake to cool gradually. After about an hour, remove from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

Serve with a drizzle of chocolate or raspberry sauce, and personalize with toppings like crushed nuts or whipped cream.
