Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease two 9-inch round cake pans and line with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
  4. Beat together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Incorporate eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and buttermilk, alternating.
  8. Fold in fresh blueberries gently.
  9. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. For frosting, beat cream cheese, remaining butter, confectioners’ sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract until smooth.
