- 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted Butter, melted
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- Velvety Frosting: 1/2 cup Butter, 2 cups Powdered Sugar, 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder, 2 tbsp Milk or Cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Allow to cool slightly, then whisk in eggs and vanilla extract.
- Pour the melted butter mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- While cooling, make the velvety frosting by beating butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add milk or cream as needed to achieve desired consistency.
- Once brownies are cooled, top with frosting, sprinkle with sea salt or chocolate shavings, cut into squares, and enjoy!
Notes
Allow brownies to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
