Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted Butter, melted
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • Velvety Frosting: 1/2 cup Butter, 2 cups Powdered Sugar, 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder, 2 tbsp Milk or Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Allow to cool slightly, then whisk in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the melted butter mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. While cooling, make the velvety frosting by beating butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add milk or cream as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  7. Once brownies are cooled, top with frosting, sprinkle with sea salt or chocolate shavings, cut into squares, and enjoy!

Notes

Allow brownies to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
