Instructions
- Bake the Cake according to package directions or your favorite recipe. Allow to cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
- Gradually mix in frosting until the mixture is moist but not overly wet.
- Roll small portions of the cake mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate the cake balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- While chilling, melt chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Dip one end of a lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and insert it into a cake ball.
- Coat the cake balls by dipping them in the melted chocolate, tapping off excess coating.
- Add decorations while the coating is still wet.
- Allow the cake pops to set at room temperature or refrigerate briefly to harden.
