- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups frozen crinkle-cut French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 diced onion
- Sliced pickles
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it into small pieces until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the French fries, followed by the beef mixture and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Top with the remaining fries, the rest of the cheddar cheese, and pickles if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For healthier alternatives, consider using ground turkey and sweet potato fries. Don’t skip the rest time after baking for best results.
