- 4 Boneless Chicken Breasts
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 large Eggs, beaten
- 1 ½ cups Breadcrumbs
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 2 cups Marinara Sauce
- 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- Fresh Basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat chicken breasts dry and season with salt and pepper. Pound to ½ inch thickness.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumb mixture.
- Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Spread marinara sauce in a baking dish, place chicken on top, cover with sauce, and sprinkle with Parmesan and mozzarella.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbling. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for crispy topping.
- Let rest, garnish with fresh basil, and serve.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider using whole wheat breadcrumbs and low-fat cheese. This dish can also be served over pasta, on a salad, or as a sandwich.
