Description

A decadent tart that combines rich dark chocolate with robust espresso in a creamy mascarpone filling over a crunchy graham cracker crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (60% cocoa or more)
  • 1 tbsp espresso powder
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, blend graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and melted butter until combined. Press into a tart pan and bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine dark chocolate and butter. Melt over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Stir in espresso powder and vanilla extract.
  3. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. In another bowl, blend mascarpone and cooled chocolate mixture. Gently fold in whipped cream.
  4. Pour mascarpone filling into cooled crust and smooth. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  5. Garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

For a different flavor profile, substitute graham cracker crust with digestive biscuits. Use coconut cream for a dairy-free alternative.
