Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Fresh whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a pre-made crust, set it in a pie dish. If making it from scratch, roll it out and fit it gently into your pie dish. Trim and crimp the edges. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes if desired.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until blended. Gradually mix in the heavy cream and whole milk.
  4. Sprinkle in the ground cinnamon and gently fold it into your custard mixture.
  5. Carefully pour the custard filling into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, until the custard is set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Slice and serve, optionally with a dollop of freshly whipped cream.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free pie crust mix. You can also substitute half-and-half or plant-based milks for a lighter version.
