A moist and sweet take on traditional cornbread, enhanced with sweetened condensed milk.
Ingredients

- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the sweetened condensed milk, buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredient bowl and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cornbread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use plant-based condensed milk and almond milk.
