Description
These crispy homemade waffles are golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and incredibly easy to make. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even as a freezer-friendly meal prep option.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 large eggs
1¾ cups milk (whole milk preferred)
½ cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional add-ins: mini chocolate chips, fresh berries, banana slices, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon bits, or chopped scallions.
Instructions
Preheat your waffle iron until hot.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Add dry ingredients into wet, folding gently until just combined (small lumps are fine).
Spray waffle iron lightly with nonstick spray or brush with butter.
Pour batter into the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp, 4–5 minutes.
Keep waffles warm in a 200°F oven on a wire rack until ready to serve.
Notes
For extra fluffy waffles, separate the eggs, whip the whites, and fold them into the batter.
Cool leftovers completely before freezing. Reheat in a toaster, oven, or air fryer for crispy results.
Sweet or savory variations can be added directly into the batter.
