Description
These homemade Greek Yogurt Bagels are soft, chewy, and golden brown—all without the fuss of traditional bagels. With just a few simple ingredients, you’ll have a protein-packed, bakery-style treat in under 30 minutes. Perfect for breakfast sandwiches, snacks, or just toasted with cream cheese.
Ingredients
1 cup self-rising flour (or make your own with all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt)
1 cup plain Greek yogurt (thick, not runny)
1 egg, whisked (for egg wash)
Optional toppings: sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, poppy seeds, shredded cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt until a dough forms.
Lightly flour your counter and knead dough for 2 minutes until smooth.
Divide into 4 pieces. Roll each into a rope and form into a circle.
Place bagels on the baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with toppings.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
To make your own self-rising flour: Mix 1 cup all-purpose flour + 1 ½ tsp baking powder + ¼ tsp salt.
Store bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or freeze sliced for up to 2 months.
These can be toasted straight from frozen for an easy breakfast.
