  • 1 cup pitted and chopped cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until soft and slightly underbaked in the center.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a lower-carb option, substitute almond flour. You can also use applesauce instead of butter for a low-fat version.
