- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter (unsalted)
- 2 Eggs

- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour

- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and allow it to cool slightly.
- Whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, whisking fully, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Grease a heart-shaped baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a rack. Cut into heart shapes for serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, replace some butter with applesauce and use flax eggs for a vegan version.
