Description

Delicious homemade soft pretzel bites that are easy to make and perfect for snacking.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (can substitute with whole wheat flour)
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast (or active dry yeast)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (or granulated sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, brown sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add all-purpose flour and salt gradually to the yeast mixture, mixing until the dough forms a cohesive ball.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll into bite-sized balls.
  5. Bring 6 cups of water to boil in a large pot, adding the baking soda.
  6. Boil the pretzel bites for 30 seconds per batch, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  7. Place the bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle coarse sea salt on top and bake at 425°F for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving with your favorite dips.
