Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (can substitute with whole wheat flour)
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast (or active dry yeast)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (or granulated sugar)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, brown sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add all-purpose flour and salt gradually to the yeast mixture, mixing until the dough forms a cohesive ball.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll into bite-sized balls.
- Bring 6 cups of water to boil in a large pot, adding the baking soda.
- Boil the pretzel bites for 30 seconds per batch, then remove with a slotted spoon.
- Place the bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle coarse sea salt on top and bake at 425°F for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving with your favorite dips.
Notes
For added flavor, experiment with seasonings or different dipping sauces.
