Description

Crispy golden beef tossed in a sticky honey soy glaze with slurp-worthy noodles—this quick and flavorful dish is perfect for busy weeknights or casual hosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crispy Beef:

    • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

    • ½ cup cornstarch, for coating

    • Salt & black pepper, to taste

    • ½ cup neutral oil (vegetable or canola) for frying

    For the Honey Soy Sauce:

    • ⅓ cup soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)

    • 3 tbsp honey

    • 3 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

    • 1 tsp sesame oil

    For the Noodles:

    • 8 oz egg noodles or rice noodles

    • Salted water, for cooking

    Optional Garnishes:

    • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

    • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

    • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)

    • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  • Prep the Beef: Pat beef slices dry with paper towels. Toss with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  • Fry Until Crispy: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry beef in batches until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  • Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.

  • Cook the Noodles: Boil noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Combine Everything: Pour the sauce into the skillet and simmer 1 minute until slightly thickened. Add crispy beef and noodles, tossing well to coat.

  • Serve & Garnish: Transfer to bowls and top with green onions, sesame seeds, chili flakes, or cilantro. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy beef, don’t overcrowd the pan—cook in batches.

  • Chicken, pork, or tofu can be swapped in for beef.

  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet with a splash of soy sauce or water.
