Description

A rich, indulgent twist on traditional brownies, baked into a delicious bread loaf that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted or coconut oil)
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter and sugar until just combined.
  7. Pour in the hot fudge sauce and fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean with slight moist crumbs.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For an egg-free option, use flaxseed meal or unsweetened applesauce. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
