- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted or coconut oil)
- 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter and sugar until just combined.
- Pour in the hot fudge sauce and fold in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean with slight moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For an egg-free option, use flaxseed meal or unsweetened applesauce. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
