Description
These Keto Onion Rings are crispy, cheesy, and perfectly low-carb. Made with simple ingredients like onion, cheese, and pork rinds or almond flour, they’re an easy snack or side dish you can bake or air fry to golden perfection.
Ingredients
1 large onion (yellow, white, or sweet), cut into ½-inch rings
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for cheese crust method)
1 cup crushed pork rinds (or almond flour for crumb coating)
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
½ tsp paprika or garlic powder (optional, for seasoning)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Cooking spray or olive oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Slice onion into ½-inch thick rounds and separate into rings. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Choose coating method:
Cheese crust: Press shredded mozzarella firmly around each ring.
Crumb coating: Dredge rings in crushed pork rinds (or almond flour) mixed with parmesan and spices.
Arrange coated onion rings in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
Bake for 15–20 minutes (flip halfway) or air fry for 10–12 minutes, until golden and crispy.
Let cool for 2–3 minutes, then serve warm with your favorite keto-friendly dipping sauce.
Notes
Dry onions well before coating for the crispiest results.
For extra crunch, combine pork rinds with parmesan cheese.
Best enjoyed fresh—if storing, reheat in oven or air fryer for crispiness.
Avoid microwaving leftovers; they’ll get soggy.
