Description

A delightful twist on a classic, this Quiche Baguette features a crispy baguette base filled with creamy eggs, cheese, and your choice of vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Baguette
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Cheese (Gruyere or Cheddar)
  • Vegetables (Spinach, Mushrooms, Bell Peppers)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Optional: Cooked Bacon or Ham

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and hollow out the center slightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté your chosen vegetables until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  4. Mix cheese and any cooked bacon or ham with the sautéed vegetables into the egg mixture. Pour this filling into the hollowed baguette halves.
  5. Place the filled baguette halves on a baking tray and bake for 30-35 minutes, until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using egg whites and low-fat cheese. Pair with a fresh salad or a side of fruit.
