Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Cabbage, shredded
  • 4 strips Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Stir in the sour cream and then beat in the egg until a dough forms.
  3. On a floured surface, knead the dough gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, then add onion and sauté until translucent. Add cabbage and sauté until tender, then mix in bacon and set aside to cool.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick, cut into squares, and add a tablespoon of filling into each square.
  6. Fold corners of each square into center and pinch to seal.
  7. Place filled buns on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

For healthier alternatives, consider using whole wheat flour or low-fat Greek yogurt.
