Ingredients
- Mixed Berries (2 cups)
- Granulated Sugar (¾ cup)
- Lemon Juice (1 tablespoon)
- Cornstarch (2 tablespoons)
- All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
- Baking Powder (1 tablespoon)
- Salt (½ teaspoon)
- Unsalted Butter (½ cup, cold and cubed)
- Milk (¾ cup)
- Egg (1 large)
- Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Let sit.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until coarse crumbs form.
- Make a well in the flour mixture and add the milk and vanilla. Stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to about ¾-inch thickness. Cut out heart shapes.
- In a greased baking dish, pour the berry mixture and place the biscuits on top.
- Brush the biscuits with egg wash and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
